THE POWER OF WORDS
Yashika believes in the power of words, whether spoken or written.
When wielded right to certain groups of audience, it can educate, empower, entertain, or influence.

Coffeetable Books, Biographies and Speeches
Yashika is a published author of several works for the Philippine maritime industry.
She authored The Poetry that is AIMS that chronicles the history, trials, and triumps of the Asian Institute of Maritime Studies’ (AIMS). It includes a mini biography of its founder and pioneers. The book also contains a special chapter on Philippine Maritime History.
She also wrote the biography of the visionary Capt. Jae Jung Jang, Sailing the Sea of Fate as well as coffeetable books of some of the Philippine Coast Guard Commandants upon their retirement from service.
Yashika likewise serves as a speechwriter for numerous Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary leaders.

News Articles and Profiles
Yashika is a maritime journalist with experience spanning 17 years of covering different sectors of the global maritime industry.
More than news articles on manning, maritime education and training, shipping, maritime security, and the marine environment, Yashika’s forte is writing Profiles of maritime personalities, leaders, movers and shakers, and everyone in between.
She has published hundreds of Profile stories that are reprinted and re-shared by multiple publications and online platforms here and abroad. She was also the brains behind the enhancement of Buhay Marino from its tabloid format to a more professional, Berliner format in honor of Lloyd’s List, the world’s oldest continuously running shipping journal.

Public Speaking Engagements
Yashika has been serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) lecturer for the Coast Guard Education Training and Doctrines Command (CGETDC) and a resource speaker for the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) since her membership in 2011.
Her lectures range from Media and Journalism to Personality Development, Servant Leadership, Volunteerism, and PCGA Protocols.
Yashika anchored two radio programs – Buhay Marino, a radio-magazine for Filipino seafarers, and Serbisyong Coast Guard that features the accomplishments and updates about the PCG.
Occassionally, she is requested to host some of the major maritime events in Manila.
