Yashika is a member of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary under the Coast Guard Auxiliary District NCR-Central Luzon.

She joined in 2011 with the entry rank of Auxiliary Lieutenant Junior Grade and served under the 125th Squadron with an area of responsibility (AOR) in Cavite. The Squadron’s specialization among the core functions of the PCGA was Marine Environment Protection and Maritime Safety as majority of its members are maritime professionals. It became Yashika’s training ground in terms of administrative and operational functions in the PCGA.

Yashika was appointed in different positions for the next 11 years, to include Communications Officer, Flag Secretary, Volunteer Services, Training & Protocol, Deputy Chief of Staff for Training, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, and Squadron Chief of Staff.

It was also during this period that Yashika was appointed in different higher positions in the District and National level, which mostly included Public Affairs and Education and Training. She also completed numerous trainings, seminars, activities, and the required Time-in-Grade; this earned her promotions until she became an Auxiliary Captain in 2018.

In 2021, Yashika was among the core group of PCGA officers who authored the Revised PCGA Manual that was written alongside the Philippine Coast Guard.

Come 2022 and with a change of domicile, Yashika transferred to the 102nd Squadron which operates in the AOR of Eastern Metro Manila (Marikina, Rizal, and Pasig). The Squadron’s specialization is Relief & Rehabilitation, Maritime Community Relations, and Education & Training.

Then holding a senior rank as a Captain, Yashika focused on improving the administrative, human resource, and training of the Squadron. With diligence as the Squadron Chief of Staff, and through the guidance of her leaders, the Squadron welcomed a new generation of volunteers that now carries the new brand of 102nd Squadron’s servant leadership – young, vibrant, dignified, LEGENDARY.

She has been serving as the Director for Education and Traiining with the National Auxiliary Main Office (NAMO) since 2023.

In 2024, by virtue of her appointment in the National Auxiliary Main Office as the Deputy Support Group Director for Education and Training, and after six years of actively serving as a Captain, Yashika was promoted to Auxiliary Commodore.

In March 2025, she was elected as the Squadron Director of the 102nd Coast Guard Auxiliary Squadron, making her the first female officer to hold such position since the Squadron was established. She was also appointed as the Director for Public Affairs Service and Deputy Chief of Staff for Protocol of the Coast Guard Auxiliary District NCR-Central Luzon. Likewise, she is holding the position of Deputy Chief of Staff for Education and Training (CGA-12) of the PCGA.
